Found out 70% of my salon's revenue goes to product waste and I'm torn on what to do about it
I was going through my numbers last Tuesday and saw a stat that really hit me - apparently over 70% of color and product costs just gets thrown away in most salons. I found it in a trade magazine survey about sustainability in salons. Part of me thinks we should be doing more to track every drop of product and reduce waste, like measuring out exact amounts for each client. But another part of me wonders if that would slow us down too much and make clients feel rushed instead of pampered. Has anyone else looked into their waste numbers and found a happy medium?
