I used to think a 2 inch curling iron was fine for everything, but my friend in Miami said to try a 1.25 inch barrel.

I did a test on the same client, using the bigger iron on one side of her hair and the smaller one on the other. The 1.25 inch iron gave way more defined, bouncy waves that lasted two days longer. Which barrel size do you all think is more versatile for most clients?

Your friend in Miami deserves a medal for that advice. The smaller barrel is a total game changer for hold and shape. It just works better on more hair types, from fine to thick. That extra definition makes the style last way longer for most people. The bigger iron is fine for a loose look, but it just doesn't have the same staying power. Versatility is about what holds up best, and the 1.25 inch wins.

Bigger barrels work better for most real world hair. That loose wave is way easier to style every day and doesn't look overdone. Who has time for super tight curls that just turn into frizz anyway?
