Shoutout to the client who asked for a 'sunset' balayage and got something totally different

I was working at the Sola Salon in Austin last Tuesday when a client brought in a photo of a soft pink-to-orange blend. I mixed my colors, but after processing, the orange toner pulled way too brassy on her level 7 hair, giving her a straight-up pumpkin stripe. I had to think fast. I told her I saw the issue and offered to correct it right then, no extra charge. I used a quick ash-violet gloss to neutralize the brass, which took about 20 minutes, and she actually loved the cooler, rose-gold result more. Has anyone else had a color correction turn into a happy accident?

Clients never know what they actually want.

So when a client says they want a modern website, what are they really asking for? Is it just a clean look, or a specific feeling they can't put into words? I've found the real need is often buried under three layers of buzzwords they heard somewhere else.

That quick thinking saved the day, and @elizabeths51, sometimes they DO know what they love.
