Showerthought: I used to mix my own toner from scratch for every client, but switching to a pre-made line for the last 3 months has been a game changer.
For years, I was so proud of my custom mixes. I'd spend 15 minutes at the bowl for every single color correction, measuring and tweaking. Then a rep left a sample of the 'ChromaSync' pre-mades at the salon. I was sure they'd be flat or limited. Tried it on a client with stubborn brassy tones, and the lift was just cleaner and more even than my usual formula. The big thing was the time saved, honestly. Now I can spend those extra minutes on a proper consultation or a scalp massage. I still love custom work for special cases, but for 80% of my color clients, the consistency is just better. Anyone else made a switch from custom mixing to a reliable pre-made system and found it actually improved their results?

It's a hard shift to make when you take pride in your custom work. I was the same with my glaze formulas, and letting go felt like a step back. The time you get back is the real prize, it changes the whole service.

So what changed your mind?

Wait, you made your own glaze formulas from scratch? That's wild... I could never trust myself to mix chemicals like that. I'd be so scared of getting the ratios wrong and ruining a whole batch. Letting that go must have been huge.
