Spent $220 on that fancy hot tool system and I'm 50/50 on it
Grabbed the high-end thermal styling set six months ago thinking it'd speed up my bookings, but after 40 clients some love the shine while others say it flakes off within hours. Anyone else find these premium tools are hit or miss for different hair types?

Jumped in to agree with Olivia here. Honestly, my hair texture changed completely once I got serious about the cold rinse at the end of every wash. I used to buy all these expensive hot tools because I thought they'd fix the frizz and dullness, but nope. What really helped was finding the right conditioner for my hair type, not the price tag on the tool. Those tools just sit in my drawer now while my cheap drugstore brush and cold water do all the heavy lifting.

Tbh sounds like the tools aren't the problem, the hair is.

Have you tried washing your hair with cold water at the end? My hair used to fight every tool I threw at it until I started doing that final cold rinse, @king.robin. It seals the cuticle down so the hair isn't all puffed up and rebellious against whatever brush or comb you're using. Also, a deep condition once a week made a bigger difference than any fancy tool I bought. Sometimes it's just about getting the moisture balance right instead of buying a new gadget. The right prep work makes all those other things actually work the way they should.
