Spent 45 minutes trying to fix a dark root melt on a client yesterday

Turned out I just needed to feather my color application at the regrowth line instead of going straight in with heavy saturation, has anyone else wasted way too long on a simple fix?

Yeah, that's the thing people don't tell you about root melts.

Did I spend that long just to realize I'd grabbed a tinted brush instead of a clean one?
