That cheap $30 hot comb from Amazon melted a chunk of my client's hair off

Bought a budget hot comb online for a quick fix on a Saturday appointment and within seconds it was smoking and left a gummy mess that cost me $200 in damage repair products, has anyone else had a cheap tool backfire on them like this?

Cheap tools always cost you more in the long run.

Gotta tell you what happened to my buddy Mike last summer. He bought a $20 angle grinder from some random hardware store because he thought it was a steal. First time he used it cutting rebar, the damn thing started smoking and the guard basically fell off after ten minutes. He spent more time messing with it than actually working, then had to shell out another sixty bucks for a real one at the end of the day. Cheap tools are just a gamble you end up losing, every time.

Oh man, tell me about it. Had a similar disaster with a cheap drill that literally caught fire on my second use.
