Update: My hot take on those old school blunt cuts

Back when I first started, everyone wanted the same sharp, one-length bob. It was quick to do and clients loved how easy it was to manage. Now, with all these textured layers and shag cuts, I feel like we overcomplicate things. I actually think a clean, blunt cut has a timeless confidence that gets lost today. Sure, it's not trendy, but it always looks polished.

Funny how everyone pushes layers for fine hair... but a solid blunt cut actually gives the illusion of more thickness. All those wispy ends from texturizing shears just make thin hair look sad and sparse. Sometimes the old ways fix problems the new trends just hide.

Totally agree, I tried layers for years and my hair just looked stringy. Switched to a blunt bob last year and it actually holds shape. What do you use to style it without weighing it down?

My stylist in Denver said the same thing about blunt cuts. Oscarhart, I just use a tiny bit of mousse on damp hair and let it air dry, seems to do the trick without any fuss.
