Used to mix color by eye, now I use a scale and I'll never go back

I used to just eyeball color ratios and hope for the best, which led to a few disaster appointments at my salon in Portland. About 6 months ago, I bought a $20 digital scale and started weighing every drop, and my formulas have been rock solid since. A client even said her highlights looked more even than ever, which never happens with my old method. Has anyone else switched to weighing color, or do you still trust your gut?
