Vent: The day I finally fired a regular client after 2 years of bad vibes

I had this client, Brenda, who came to me every 6 weeks at my salon in Austin. She would always complain about the cut before I even finished, but last Wednesday she snapped at me for using "too much product" and I just saw red. I handed her a refund and told her to find someone else, and honestly the rest of that week I was way less stressed. Has anyone else had to cut ties with a regular and felt weirdly free after?

wow I think you handled that way better than most people would have. The whole refund thing was actually really professional and smart. It shows you have self respect and boundaries. I used to think you had to keep everyone happy even if they made you miserable. Brenda sounds like the type who would complain no matter what you did. Some people just want to feel superior by putting others down. Good for you for finally cutting that cord.

Ha! Thanks but really I just got tired enough to stop caring. Honestly the refund thing was mostly me being too lazy to deal with another round of her passive aggressive texts. Like at some point you just snap and go "fine here's your money back just please stop talking to me." Its funny how setting boundaries looks all strong and smart from the outside but on the inside you're just completely exhausted and running on fumes. Brenda probably would have complained if I gave her a winning lottery ticket and a puppy so yeah cutting that cord was overdue.
