Watched a stylist in Memphis fix a bad color melt with just a bowl and some dish soap
I was shadowing at a salon during a trade show and saw her strip out dark blue buildup in 10 minutes flat. Has anyone else used dish soap as a quick fix for over-toned hair?

Dawn dish soap is basically a secret weapon in my kit. Had a client with brassiness from hell after a bad home bleach job and a blue toning shampoo. Scrubbed a tiny bit of Dawn on the worst spots, rinsed quick, and it knocked that blue right out without damaging her hair. Just gotta be gentle and follow up with a deep conditioner because it can dry things out fast.

Did she also offer to do the dishes after? Seriously though, I've seen that trick work but always feels a little sketchy.

35 minutes ago my coworker tried that Dawn trick on her purple-grey toner disaster and it worked scary fast. @the_kim is right though, you gotta deep condition after or your hair will feel like straw.
