Hot take: I picked the dining table over the living room couch for my fort and it finally feels right
For 3 nights I kept bouncing between the couch (soft, but my back hurt by night two) and the dining table (firmer, but I worried it would feel too stiff for reading). I went with the table, draped two queen sheets over the chairs and a broom handle to make a little slanted roof, and threw a camping pad under the blankets. Last night I got through 40 pages of a library book with a flashlight and zero aches, which never happened on the couch. The trick was tucking the sheet corners under the chair legs so nothing slid loose. Has anyone tried hanging a small string of fairy lights in a table fort without the cord getting in the way?
