Tried a fitted sheet over the couch cushions instead of a pile of loose blankets
I built forts with a big heap of throw blankets on the couch for a long time, and the roof always sagged onto my head after 20 minutes of reading. Last Saturday I stretched a fitted sheet over the seat cushions in my Denver apartment and anchored the corners with two chip clips, and the whole thing held up all afternoon. The sheet stays tight because of the elastic, while loose blankets just slide and collapse. Does anyone use binder clips or something else to keep the top from drooping?
Man, I always figured sheets were a dumb idea for forts and blankets were the way to go. But you're right about the sag, I'd build a whole nest and then twenty minutes in it's basically smothering me while I try to read. The elastic doing the work makes sense in a way blankets never could, they just creep and bunch up no matter how much you tuck them. I'm gonna grab an old fitted sheet from the closet and test this out this weekend. Two chip clips on the corners is a solid move too, I would've just been fighting it with my hands.
