Went with the fitted sheet on top instead of the heavy quilt, and my fort has never held air this well
For about a year my forts kept sagging in the middle after an hour or so, and I could not figure out why. Two weekends ago I finally sat down and compared my two usual roof options: the queen quilt my wife hates me using, or a plain fitted sheet I got for $12 at the store on 5th. I picked the fitted sheet because the elastic corners grab the chair backs and the couch arm without a single piece of tape. It took me three tries to get the corner tension right, but once I did, the roof stayed tight for a solid four hours while I read. The quilt was warmer but it kept sliding off the frame and dumping one side onto my head. The sheet lets a little air move too, so it does not get stuffy when I nap in there. Now I want to try the same trick on the walls. Has anyone else gone with a lighter top layer and did it hold up for you?
