Am I the only one who thinks a plain old pour over beats the $180 machine I bought?
I got the fancy machine in March and the coffee still tastes flat next to the $12 plastic dripper I've had for 4 years. Anyone else go back to the cheap setup after dropping real money?

Nope, the cheap dripper just wins. My $15 cone gives me way more control over the grind and pour, so the cup comes out brighter and cleaner. The pricey machine mostly just heats water and drips it, not much else going on. Flat taste makes sense when you can't tweak anything.
