Can we talk about cold brew that tastes like dirt? My last 3 batches were awful
I've been trying to make cold brew at home for about a month now, and last week's batch was the worst yet. I used a 1:8 ratio with some pricey $18 beans from a roaster in Portland, and it came out bitter and muddy. This morning I tried a 1:5 ratio with a coarser grind and left it for 18 hours, still no good. Maybe it's just me, but I think the whole cold brew hype is overrated when you can just do a simple French press. Does anyone have a setup that actually works, or should I just give up and buy concentrate? What am I missing here?
