Chemex vs my old drip machine, night and day after 6 months

Tbh I used the same $40 Mr. Coffee for like a decade and thought I knew what coffee was. Then my sister in Portland sent me a Chemex for Christmas and I finally got why people obsess over pour overs. The difference isnt just taste, its the whole pace of making it, forces you to slow down and actually watch the bloom. Has anyone else switched methods after a long time and felt kinda dumb for waiting so long?

Funny how that works, you get stuck in a routine and never question it until something random shakes you loose. Same thing happened to me with cooking, used the same scratched up pan for years, then got a cast iron one and realized I'd been missing out on basic flavor this whole time. It's like we build these little walls around our habits and just assume everything else is the same or not worth the effort. Once you break through one, you start wondering what else you've been settling for without even knowing it. Kind of a nice wake up call honestly, even if it stings a little.
