Overheard a guy at the cafe say he microwaves his coffee to reheat it and I nearly spat out my pour-over...

He said he does it every single time because the microwave unlocks the "hidden flavor notes" and now I'm wondering if I've been wasting my time with a gooseneck kettle this whole month, has anyone else heard of this method?

Used to be a total microwave coffee defender, but I finally tried real pour over at a friend's house and it was a completely different planet of flavor. That burnt, bitter edge is definitely from nuking it too long or using old grounds. Now I can't un-taste the difference, it's wild how much better it gets with just a little extra effort.
