Took me 4 months to figure out my pour over was the grinder all along
I kept getting bitter cups no matter what I did with my V60, tried new water temps, different ratios, even ordered beans from a roaster in Portland. After about 4 months of frustration, I realized my cheap blade grinder was smashing the beans into uneven chunks. Swapped to a $45 hand burr grinder last Tuesday and my first cup was smooth, actually tasted the honey notes for once. Wish I had measured the grind size sooner instead of blaming everything else. Has anyone else chased a brewing problem that turned out to be something way more basic than you thought?

Oh man, that's basically my life story but with salt instead of coffee, I blamed every recipe for months before realizing my scale was off by like 10 grams the whole time. Now I just taste my food and hope for the best, way less stress that way!
