Used to dump my creamer in first until a buddy showed me why that's wrong

I always put creamer in the mug before pouring coffee. Did it for like 10 years. Then my neighbor Dave saw me do it and said I was ruining the flavor. He showed me how pouring coffee first lets it cool a bit and keeps the creamer from scorching. Tried it his way for a week and now I can't go back. Anyone else have a pouring order they swear by?

Started pouring coffee first about three years ago and never looked back either.

Wait, hold on. Creamer doesn't scorch if you pour the coffee on top, that's mostly about milk. Most non dairy creamers are basically oil and sugar, they don't burn like dairy does. I think your buddy Dave might have had you do it just because it mixes better that way, which is true. Hot coffee hitting cold creamer first makes it blend smoother without those little white globs floating around.
