Cat knocked my coffee onto the keyboard at 7am and the desk has stayed empty since
Lost a full mug over the corner of my desk in Portland, so I cleared everything off except the laptop on a riser. Now the open space feels calmer, which bugs me because I miss my little lamp and plant. What is the one thing you keep on your desk no matter what?

Funny how fast your desk tells you what you actually need. We do this with everything, strip a space down to bare bones after one mess and then act surprised when it feels cold. Turns out the lamp and the plant were doing more than taking up room, they were making the spot feel like yours. Keep the plant, no matter what. A little green thing surviving next to the laptop says you still live there and the cat doesn't run the place.
