Hit 200 desk photos in my album, still hate the fancy ones

I've been cataloging cozy workspaces for a blog project, and after 200 shots from places like Portland and small Ohio towns, I realized the clean, staged photos everyone loves just don't work for me. The real gems are the messy ones with a half-eaten sandwich or a cat sleeping on the keyboard. Why does everyone chase that magazine look when the lived-in clutter is what actually feels cozy? Has anyone else found that their favorite setup is the one you'd never post online?
