My $50 monitor stand broke and took my whole desk with it
Honestly, I thought I was being smart buying a cheap wooden monitor stand off Amazon last month. It lasted exactly 3 weeks before the legs just snapped under my 27 inch screen. The whole thing crashed down, knocked over my coffee mug, and shattered a ceramic plant pot I had on the corner. Has anyone else had a cheap desk accessory fail on them and make a total mess?

Oh man, that's rough but 27 inches is pretty big for a cheap stand.

A pretty big" is an understatement. A 27 inch monitor for cheap can be a gamble. You never know if the stand is going to hold it steady or just tip over if you bump the desk. I'd rather have a smaller screen that doesn't wobble every time I type.
