My desk lamp almost took out my whole setup last night

I was in my little corner office in Austin, typing away at 11pm when my old swing-arm lamp just tipped over and landed right on my keyboard tray, sending coffee everywhere. The wire got yanked out of the outlet and sparked a bit, so now I'm paranoid about every cable behind my desk. Anyone else had a near-miss like this and found a good way to anchor lamps and cords so they don't cause chaos?

Man, that reminds me of when my cat knocked a whole shelf of records onto my amp and I still find vinyl shards in my carpet!
