My friend laughed at my desk lamp and now I get why
I was showing my coworker Jen my setup last week and she pointed at the lamp I've been using for like 3 years. It's one of those cheap metal clamp lamps from the hardware store with a white LED bulb. She said "dude you work in a dungeon" and I laughed it off. But then I sat under her setup at her place and she had this warm dimmable lamp on a wooden arm angled toward the wall. The whole room felt softer and I actually felt less tired after an hour. I switched to a warm bulb and aimed it at the wall behind my monitor. Total game changer. Anyone else have a lighting change that made a bigger difference than you expected?

Heard a sleep doctor say once that indirect lighting actually helps your brain wind down since it mimics sunset light bouncing off stuff. Direct bulb-in-the-face tells your body it's still high noon. Big picture shift.

Right? I started dimming my bedroom lamp and fell asleep way faster than with the overhead light.
