My lamp fell into my coffee and ruined the whole desk vibe last week

I was working from home in my little corner in Denver, taking a sip and adjusting my arm. The whole lamp just tipped right over into my mug. Coffee went everywhere - all over my mousepad, dripped down onto my surge protector, even got on some papers. I had to unplug everything and spend 45 minutes wiping down my keyboard keys with a q-tip. The lamp still works but now it smells like burnt coffee when it gets warm. Has anyone else had a desk accident that just threw off your whole setup for a day?

Used to think desk setups were just furniture. Not anymore. That coffee + burnt lamp smell combo is brutal. Changed my whole view on keeping liquids far from electronics.

The real concern is the corrosion that happens even if you clean it up fast. Circuits can still get damaged from the moisture that seeps under components, turning a quick spill into a ticking time bomb.
