Noticed a retired guy's floating shelf setup at the dentist office yesterday

I was waiting for my root canal follow up in Cedar Rapids and this older gentleman had a tiny nook by the window with a single monitor on a gas spring arm, all cables hidden inside the desk leg. He even had a little magnetic strip for his glasses and a coaster that looked like a slice of wood. It got me thinking, my own desk has three monitors and a tangle of chargers, and his setup probably cost less than my last keyboard. Has anyone else seen a minimalist setup in a weird public place that made you question your own clutter?
