Shoutout to the library sale in Reno that made me throw out my desk lamp
I went to a used book sale at the library in Reno six months ago and walked out with a $2 brass reading lamp that was ugly as sin but threw this warm yellow circle of light. I brought it home and set it on my desk next to my old LED lamp, and the difference was so obvious it made me mad. My old lamp was putting out this harsh white beam that bounced off my monitor and gave me headaches I blamed on screen time. The $2 lamp made my whole corner feel like a coffee shop at closing time, and I stopped noticing my cable mess behind the monitor. I went home and pulled the LED lamp off my desk for good, and I have not missed it once. I still have the same cheap desk and the same tangle of cords, but that little change did more for the space than any organizer bin ever did. So now I want to know, has anyone else swapped one light and had it fix a room they thought was just badly laid out? What kind of bulb are you running?
Kept the same ugly lamp for two years before swapping the bulb to a 2700K LED and it did the same thing, softer glow, no more headaches. Go warmer on the bulb, like 2400K if you can find it, and that coffee shop feeling gets even better.
