Tiny monitor stand, giant argument: do plants belong on your desk or not?
I read a post last week in a Facebook group where someone bragged about their zero-clutter desk, just a laptop and a coffee mug, and called plants 'dust collectors that crowd your mouse hand'. Meanwhile my best friend just filled her whole corner nook with three succulents and a pothos vine trailing over her keyboard, and she says it makes her focus better. I keep mine on a floating shelf above the monitor, so I get the green without losing the space, but now I'm second-guessing if that's just a half-measure. A 2023 study I skimmed said plants can cut stress by 15%, but does that count if they're not within arm's reach? Are you team 'plants on the desk' or team 'plants nowhere near the workspace'? I live in a tiny apartment in Chicago where every inch matters, so I need real opinions before I commit to a bigger shelf.
