I finally hit 50 canned goods in my pantry swap experiment
I started swapping out store-bought stuff for home-canned versions back in June, and yesterday I counted 50 jars of tomatoes, beans, and pickles from trades with neighbors. It blew my mind because I never thought I'd actually stick with it or find enough people to swap with locally. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like this from just trading pantry extras?

My buddy Mark tried this with salsa and ended up with 80 jars before his wife made him stop because they had nowhere to put them all. He was basically running a neighborhood salsa exchange from his garage.

But isn't 80 jars just being smart about it? I mean, if you're going to go through the trouble of canning, you might as well do a big batch so you don't have to do it again for a while. Salsa keeps forever if you do it right, and his neighbors probably loved him for it. Sounds like a win to me.

Ha, did his wife actually put a cap on it though?
