This week I swapped plain yogurt for sour cream in four meals and it actually worked out great

I ran out of sour cream on Tuesday morning and didn't want to go to the store because it was raining sideways here in Portland. So I grabbed my plain Greek yogurt and used it on my baked potato at lunch. Then I stirred it into the taco meat for dinner and nobody said a word. By Thursday I was putting it on chili and even mixing it into a ranch dip for veggies. It's a little tangier than sour cream but honestly I might just buy yogurt from now on and skip the sour cream altogether. Has anyone else tried this swap and noticed a difference in certain dishes where it just doesn't work?

Held my breath a little when you said "raining sideways in Portland." That's serious weather talk.

Gotta agree with you @joel_martinez, that kind of sideways rain is no joke. It makes you realize how much we take simple things for granted, like walking outside without getting soaked from three directions at once lol. Lately I've been noticing more little reminders like that, where normal weather just feels a bit more intense than it used to.

Portland got 6 inches in one day last fall, and that sideways stuff was real. I've seen my share of weather, and that kind of rain bends trees and floods streets fast. So yeah, when someone says "raining sideways," I take it seriously too.
