I used to skip the museum in Animal Crossing until I saw the actual fish models
For three years I just donated stuff and never went back to look. Then last week I walked into the bug section and realized the butterflies actually flutter around inside glass cases with proper labels. Sable told me something about how Blathers arranges things by habitat zones and now I spend 20 minutes per visit just reading plaques. Did anyone else miss this detail for way too long?

Same thing happens with me and album liner notes, you just don't dig into stuff until you accidentally slow down.

Did you catch that NPR piece about how slow reading actually changes your brain chemistry? Wild how we're all just speedrunning through stuff until something forces us to actually look at it.

Started doing this a few years back with my morning coffee. Put my phone in another room and just read one chapter slowly out loud. Noticed I actually remember the details now instead of finishing a page and having zero clue what happened. My trick is to read like I'm telling a friend about it, really sounding out the words and pausing at the good parts. Feels weird at first but your brain gets addicted to the calm pretty quick.
