My Stardew Valley farm got destroyed by a meteor in year 3

I was on day 5 of fall, just finished planting 120 pumpkins for the fair. Woke up the next morning and a giant meteor had crushed half my sprinkler system and 30 crops. I didn't have the gold to fix it all at once, so I just replanted what I could and left the meteor sitting there as a weird decoration. Has anyone else had a random event mess up their layout like that?

I mean, yeah, the meteor event hit me in year 2 and it totally wrecked my first little orchard area. I had like 15 fruit trees planted in a neat row and it landed right in the middle of two of them, just flattened. I was so mad I couldn't even afford to remove it for like a whole season, so I just put a fence around it and called it a "space rock exhibit" or whatever. It kind of grew on me as a weird landmark honestly, even though it killed my profit margins for that month.

Ngl Kevin, I would've just let that thing sit there forever and turned it into a "tourist attraction." Nothing says "thriving farm" like a 5-ton rock that murdered your saplings.

Kevin's story reminds me of something that happens way more often than it should in real life. You know how you plan out this perfect little setup, whether it's a garden or a desk layout or even just a route to work, and then some random thing just smashes right through it? That meteor is like those surprise road closures or when the power goes out for no reason right as you're about to cook dinner. @kevin_west you turned a total bummer into a conversation piece though, and that's the best way to handle it honestly. Sometimes the stuff that messes up your plans ends up being the only thing you remember about that whole season.
