My whole farm layout got ruined because I didn't check the weather forecast

I spent 4 hours Sunday laying out my new orchard in Stardew Valley, but then a random storm came through on day 8 and lightning zapped three of my apple trees before I even got fences up around them, and now I'm stuck with these ugly stumps until I can afford new saplings, has anyone else had a storm mess up their perfectly planned farm?

Three apple trees. You lost three apple trees. I've had entire seasons where my crops get wiped by crows because I forgot a scarecrow, but I just replanted and moved on. Maybe I don't get the attachment to a specific sapling layout. It's pixels, man. You'll make more gold, buy more saplings, and in a week you probably won't even remember which stumps were where.

Oh man, that stinks! lol Lightning always picks the worst spots too, like it knows exactly which tree you spent the most time on. It's wild how one little thing like checking the forecast can save you all that heartache, but real life is the same way - I swear every time I skip looking at the weather for a weekend trip, I end up in a downpour without an umbrella. Stardew's just training us to be paranoid planners in the real world, I guess.

Four apple trees GONE in a single storm? I used to just plant and hope for the best, but after losing half my blueberry crop to a summer lightning strike I started checking the weather every morning without fail. Now I always keep a few lightning rods scattered around my regular trees just to have some backup protection.
