The week my Stardew farm got hit by lightning three days in a row...
I had seven lightning rods set up around my farm in year three, but last Tuesday a storm came through and zapped two of my ancient fruit plants near Grandpa's shrine. Then Thursday another bolt took out my only coffee maker machine, which I had just saved up 20,000 gold for. By Friday I just turned off the game and stared at my ceiling for an hour. Has anyone else had a string of bad luck like that in a cozy game where you just need a break?

Man, that's rough - I once rage-quit Animal Crossing for a week after a villager tried to sell me a bug I donated hours earlier.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I spent three hours in Minecraft building a little cottage by a lake, complete with a garden and a fence. I was so proud of it, right? Then I went to sleep in the game and woke up to find a creeper had blown a hole through the entire side of the house and my sheep were all wandering around in the crater. I just closed the laptop and stared at the wall for a while. Sometimes I think these games are sentient and just waiting for you to get attached so they can mess with you.

Oh don't even get me started, I once spent a whole real-life weekend decorating my farm in Stardew only to have a meteorite smash through my carefully placed beehive setup two days later. I just sat there with my mouth open for a solid minute like the game personally had it out for me. Sometimes I swear these games know exactly when you're most proud of something and decide to humble you real quick.
