Sticky wall decals ruined my rental paint job in Chicago
I put up those peel-and-stick decals to cozy up my dining nook and after 8 weeks they started curling at the edges, so I pulled one off and it took the paint right with it, leaving a giant ugly patch. The landlord is charging me $180 to repaint that whole wall, which is way more than the decals ever cost me, and now I'm stuck looking at a bare drywall spot. Has anyone found a rental-friendly way to add warmth to walls without ending up with a repair bill like this?
