TIL my mom was right about the overhead light in my studio apartment
She walked in, pointed at the ceiling, and said "nobody looks good under that," so I swapped the bare bulb for a $9 warm lamp from the corner store on 3rd and now the whole room reads like a totally different place, though I'm still arguing with myself about whether to get a second one for the reading chair.
