I swapped my floor lamp for a $15 clamp light and my corner finally works

Had this big floor lamp from Target in the corner by my armchair, looked fine but threw all this harsh glare off my paperback pages. Tried a $15 clamp light from the hardware store on the shelf above, aimed it down at the book, total game changer. The light pools right where I read instead of bouncing off everything, and now the spot actually FEELS like a reading nook instead of a waiting room. Anyone else ditch a pretty lamp for something ugly but functional?
