My window bench ended up as a cat bed after 3 months

I built a little reading bench under the east window with storage below, thinking I'd curl up there with tea every morning. Turns out the cushions are just the right size for my cat to claim them, and now she glares at me if I even sit down. I added a throw blanket and a small side shelf for my mug, so it's become her spot with my books nearby. Anyone else have a reading corner that got taken over by a pet? How do you share the space without losing the cozy vibe?
