The week my fairy lights shorted out and my reading nook felt like a cave

Last Tuesday I came home to find my string lights had fried themselves. My whole corner went from warm glow to depressing dark in seconds. Three days without that soft light and I realized how much it sets the mood for reading. I picked up a cheap battery powered LED strip and it actually gives a nicer spread. Has anyone tried those flameless candles for extra warmth without the fire hazard?

Swapped my desk lamp for a colored smart bulb and it changed everything. You can tweak the brightness and warmth depending on what you're reading (moody mysteries get a cooler blue, cozy fiction gets warm amber).

Make sure you get one with a GOOD color range, the cheap ones just look like a disco ball instead of real mood lighting. I tried a bargain brand and it was TERRIBLE for reading.
