Can we talk about using a telescoping boom vs a lattice boom for tight urban jobs?

I got stuck on a site in downtown Seattle last month. The spot was so cramped I had to pick between a 40-ton telescoping and a used lattice I found nearby. I went with the telescoping thinking it would be faster to set up. Big mistake. The reach was fine but the moment I had to swing a load over some scaffolding, the lack of counterweight clearance became a real problem. Lattice would have let me maneuver tighter. Took me twice as long to get that steel beam up. Has anyone else found a scenario where lattice just works better no matter how fast you can get a telescoping rig going?

Honestly, I used to be all about telescopics because of the quick setup, but a job in a tight alley last year totally flipped my thinking. Lattice just gives you that extra clearance when you're boxed in.
