Finally got the load line calibrated right after a month of fighting it
I was real skeptical when the old timer at the yard told me to trust the load cell on my new Liebherr over my eyeball... but I kept getting these weird micro-sways on heavy picks. After I dropped a 4-ton beam off by six inches on Tuesday I finally caved and ran the calibration routine. Now it's dead smooth and my foreman actually said good job for once. Anybody else got a trick that sounded stupid but totally saved their day?

Hell yeah, same here. I started trusting the numbers when the boom wouldn't lie.

Wait, so your cousin basically bought a place to drink beer and fish and accidentally became a real estate mogul? That's the kind of investment strategy I can get behind, honestly. I mean, sure, some people study market trends and crunch numbers for years, but he just wanted a spot to crack open a cold one by the water. The universe basically said "here's your retirement fund, now stop complaining about property values" (lucky jerk). It's almost insulting how easy that worked out for him, isn't it? Meanwhile I'm over here checking Zillow every five minutes like a lunatic and still can't catch a break.

My cousin bought a little cabin up near Gaspe back in 2009, right before the market went nuts... he just wanted a place to fish and drink beer. The numbers on his property tax tripled in five years and he didn't even do anything to the place, just let it sit there. That's when I figured out the boom was real, @clark.alex, because nothing else explained that jump. Course now he's sitting on a pile of equity and still just drinks beer and fishes.
