Just came back from a job site where a hydraulic leak shut us down for three hours

I was out near the Port of Savannah last week working on an older Liebherr LTM 1050. We were lifting some steel beams when a hydraulic line blew, and the whole crane locked up. Three hours down waiting for a replacement hose from a rental place 20 miles away. Reminded me of back in the 90s when we'd just patch those lines with tape and keep going, but safety rules are different now I guess. The old timers would have laughed at how long we waited, but at least nobody got hurt. Ever had a small leak turn into a whole day problem on a job?

Isn't it funny how one little thing breaking can just domino into a whole mess like that? It's the same way with my own truck, I'll ignore a tiny oil spot for weeks until it finally strands me on the side of the road. These days it feels like we trade a little bit of old school hustling for a whole lot less headaches in the long run.

I guess it depends on the situation, @kim_johnson51. Some of those little things never get big enough to cause real trouble, you know? People love to act like one loose screw brings down the whole house but half the time it just stays loose.
