My spotter in Philly said my hand signals looked like I was directing traffic at a parade
I switched to just using the radio after that, but honestly, has anyone else had a helper get creative with the feedback?

Feel your pain, my last spotter kept telling me to "sneak it in" like we were pulling a heist. Some people just have a real colorful way of putting things.

Was your spotter trying to be funny or were they genuinely confused? I've heard some wild comments from helpers over the years, but it's usually just them being a smart aleck. Unless you're actually causing a traffic jam, maybe don't take it to heart.

Tell your spotter to use plain words next time, like "left a foot" or "come right until I say stop." I had a guy who kept saying "whoa" like I was a horse, and it took a real talk in the cab to get us on the same page with clear, simple calls.
