He pointed at a soft patch of dirt I was about to set up on and said, 'That's not mud, that's a 4-foot-deep old fill from a septic tank they never told you about,' which made me stop and think about how much we rely on site info that's just plain wrong.

Man that's wild, but honestly how often does that actually happen? Most sites I've worked on the info is mostly right, or at least close enough you can figure it out as you go. Seems like a freak thing more than a real problem.
