Warning: My last coastal job changed how I view wind limits

Honestly, I worked on a dock project last month in a windy city. The local crews had wind protocols I had never seen before. For example, they used smaller loads and more frequent breaks. Back home, we mostly work with calm skies. Now I check hourly forecasts like my life depends on it. Traveling for work sure opens your eyes to new risks.

My over checking the weather is basically a new hobby now (a bad one).

How did you come to see weather checking as a hobby, @dixon.iris? I always saw it as just a quick glance before heading out. But your post made me realize it can become a full routine, like tracking patterns over weeks. Now I catch myself looking at radar maps and hourly forecasts multiple times a day.

Wait, you check the hourly forecast MULTIPLE times a day? How many is multiple, like are we talking social media scrolling levels of checking? That's next level, I just look at the little sun icon on my phone and call it good.

Checking the weather app is my new nervous habit, idk when it replaced doom scrolling. Maybe I just really need to know if I should bring a jacket in six hours.
