A writing group member told me my main character was too perfect

I brought a story to my local group in Denver last month, and one guy said my hero never made a real mistake. He was right. I went back and gave the character a bad habit, like always being late, that actually messed up a key plan. It made the whole plot feel more real. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you change a character's core trait?

Grace's blind spot idea is smart. I made a detective who was too proud to ask for help, and that stubbornness let the villain get away in chapter seven. It wasn't just a quirk, it directly broke his case and he had to rebuild it from scratch.

Found that giving my own hero a blind spot saved the whole third act.

How'd you figure out the right blind spot?
