Hit 10,000 words on my WIP and felt nothing

I thought crossing 10k would feel like some big milestone, but I just stared at the screen and moved on. The real moment was hitting 500 words in a single session after 3 days of staring at a blank page - that mattered way more than the number. Anyone else have a specific word count that surprised you for how little it meant?

okay but like hear me out. the "milestone" thing is a trap our brains set for us. we think 10k means something because it's a round number, but really that 500 words after days of nada? that's the actual victory. the real accomplishment is breaking through the wall, not just hitting a number on a counter. i once had a 300 word day after a whole week of nothing and it felt like i'd run a marathon. the 10k mark was just a number i passed on the way to the next blank page. it's like the difference between getting a participation trophy and actually winning the game.

Maybe it's just me but hitting 10k felt like proof I could actually finish something.
