I just hit 500 story ideas in my notebook and it feels like a problem
I started keeping a list of writing prompts in a cheap spiral notebook about three years ago... just a line or two for each idea. I opened it up yesterday and the count was 503. That's a crazy number to me. It means I'm coming up with new ideas faster than I can even start the old ones, which feels backwards. I think a lot of writers get stuck looking for that one perfect prompt, but having too many can be just as bad. How do you guys decide which single idea to actually work on when you have a hundred others staring you down?
