PSA: I paid $35 for a prompt pack and it was the same 12 prompts I already had in a free PDF
Bought a "200 dark fiction prompts" bundle off a writer's newsletter and about 40 of them were word for word stuff I'd seen in a free Google Doc two years back. Now I retype every prompt I like into one plain text file before I buy anything. Does anyone have a swap thread or a list they actually trust?

Man, I gotta say I don't totally agree with the idea that prompt packs are a ripoff just cause some overlap with free stuff. I've bought two packs for like $15 each and yeah, maybe a handful were ones I'd seen before, but the other ones gave me angles I never would've thought of on my own, and that alone was worth it to me. Half the value is the sorting and the order they put them in, not just the raw prompt itself. That said I do keep my own running doc of favorites, so I feel you on not wanting to pay twice for the same words.
